BEFES was originally pitched as combining the Artwork of Mike Mignola with a 2.5D platformer. It is based in an abandoned facility where scientist experimented with genetics and the arcane to produce living weapons. Something went wrong and it has been untouched for decades. You awake outside of a vat, wet, cold and confused, but a force is calling you.
The game was made in seven weeks by five post-graduate students from Bournemouth university, looking to experiment in a game medium. The focus was on on style and visual aesthetics over gameplay.
